About Michael
Lewis Group Services
We are a direct lender from $100k to $5,000,000. Above $5mm we work with our stable of lenders and investors.
The Michael Lewis Group has long relationships with a great many life companies, several CMBS platforms, many hedge funds, pension funds as well as local, regional and national banks. The Michael Lewis Group is a direct lender for commercial real estate loans from $100,000 to $5,000,000 and for anything over $5,000,000 a Commercial Loan Intermediary or Broker offering Real Estate Loan Placement and Advisory Services for the USA including Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and Canada.
As Senior Shift Manager of Aircraft Maintenance at Newark International Airport in the 1980's Michael Lewis Sr learned who the lenders and lessors were in the commercial airline, aircraft and associated parts business.
After the airline industry he worked in the asset recovery sector working with many Fortune 100 / 500 companies in the USA and international organizations with locations in Canada. It was during this period that relationships with property leasing and finance companies as well as end users were initiated, such as GECC, Syscomp Leasing, Northern Telecomm, Ciba Geigy, AT&T / Bell Communications Research, Nabisco, Hoffmann-La Roche, DEC, IBM, HP, Merrill Lynch, and a myriad of others.
In the early 90s we were using private money to fund ISPs when the internet was in its' infancy, and commercial real estate in general.
Over time we've built a sizable stable of lenders for most genres of commercial real estate and business financing.
Other funding groups we work with are comprised of private equity firms, banks, trusts, real estate investments firms, family offices and venture capital firms. The Michael Lewis Group introduces those in need of funding to entities best suited to the proposed project. Our affiliates have all forms of debt/ equity programs for most commercial real estate.
There are many individuals who will only deal with the principal lender and won't deal with referral agents or "brokers". What these people don't realize is many of the least expensive, low interest rates cannot be obtained without dealing through referral agents that have direct ties to lenders that have the best rates. They end up paying more because they aren't knowledgeable as to how certain portfolio managers work: IE- through affiliates ONLY.
Once a project is matched, the principal of the project (seeking funding) can deal directly with the principal of the funding firm that has shown interest in the funding opportunity, the direct source that makes a decision on your investment opportunity.
If you are seeking funding, please feel free to submit your project details.
The most important items to send for a purchase / acquisition loan are as follows:
Property Type
Property Location
Purchase Price
Down Payment Amount
Confidentiality is extremely important to us and our clients.
To initiate the process:
Please email answers to the above 4 questions and an executive summary, a brief outline of your project and the amount requested. If we feel we may be of assistance, we will supply you with our very reasonable service fee agreement, payable only when your project is funded, and a request for a more detailed outline of your project and all associated documents.
If you require a non-disclosure agreement for technology related projects we will execute one that you supply with your basic first contact information. Contact us.
The normal acquisition loan process takes anywhere from 60 to 90 days. Hard money is faster. For general loan types, sample parameters, loan documents required and approximate time to close please visit the LOAN FORMS page.
No deal brokers, please. We do work with commercial real estate brokers and principal representatives.
Real estate brokers seeking funding for their own real estate development, acquisition or rehabilitation projects are welcome.
Required initial information and documents:
-Principal's full name: First, Middle, Last
